Celebrating Peer Education!!

Tip Top Celebration

Sam Bevington and Lloyd Peers of the Osprey’s attended the Peer Education celebration event and presented Peer Educators; Annalisse, Chloe, Dan, Daniel and Lewis  with their certificates for achieving a level 2 Agored Cymru award in ‘Volunteering and Community Participation’.

These courageous and hard working young people developed lessons plans, activities and their very own digital stories to raise awareness of the issues around homelessness to their peers in their local communities of Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot.

Shelter Cymru worked in Partnership with Yellow Wales in Bridgend and Dewis Housing in Neath Port Talbot to recruit, train and support these young people to develop and deliver their resources and gain accreditation.

The event also marked the launch of the updated Peer Learning Starter Pack- a free resource with information, guidelines and templates for organisations looking to develop their own Peer Education project.

For more information on the project or pack go to the Peer Education pages of the website.
