Is it possible to find somewhere to live? Can I get help if I'm homeless? Is getting advice worth the bother?

Yes there is help if you're homeless. Did you know that...

In 2004 over 53,000 people applied as homeless to their local authority, in Wales alone.

The local council housing department often has to provide emergency housing to people who don't have a place to live.

And you do not have to be sleeping on the streets to be homeless.

New laws passed in 2001mean that more 16 and 17 year olds in Wales will be housed.

There should be help and support for almost all young people aged 16 or 17 who find themselves homeless.

Social services in Wales have responsibilities for care leavers.

Many young people who have left care will be provided with accommodation by a social services or social work department. Others may get accommodation from the council housing department.

No money and nowhere to go? There is help.

You may need information on what to do in when its four o'clock, it's Friday and the young person with you is literally homeless that night.
