An activity
to look at why young people might
leave home
Questions to ask the group:
- You might be considering
leaving home in the near future or not for many years, but
why, when the time comes, would you leave home?
- Do you think you will always
have a choice when you leave home?
It's
about:
the different reasons for leaving.
Use it to:
reflect on the reasons why people leave home and to consider
that some people have little choice about when to leave.
Ways of working:
the questions give a prompt for discussion.
Discussion points:
- Consider which reasons are
voluntary and which are reasons where someone might be forced
or encouraged to leave
- Do you know where to go for
help if you are having problems at home?
