This website is
part of Shelter Cymru’s ‘Housemate Project’.
Housemate works to prevent homelessness by providing an opportunity
for all school-aged children across Wales to learn about housing
and homelessness issues.
We hope that this will enable young
people to leave home successfully and safely, as well as raising
awareness of issues around housing and homelessness.
The project works to achieve this
aim in two main ways:

Through information
What are young people’s housing rights? We are improving
Shelter Cymru’s information systems to ensure that young
people who contact us get the best possible answer to this
question, wherever in Wales they are calling from. We are
also making sure that other professionals working with young
people — such as youth workers and foster carers —
have access to good quality information to help them continue
to prevent homelessness.
